Ceremonial presentation to biotechnology students at the University of Mannheim

The University of Mannheim presented a total of 32 one and two-year German scholarships with an overall value of almost EUR 130,000 during University Day 2017 on November 30. gempex regularly supports master students who exhibit excellent technical or social performance in their studies.

The ceremonial presentation took place in front of about 240 guests during University Day 2017. The scholarship recipients Martina Mierzejewski (Bioprocess Development course of studies) along with Elina Buss and Laura Freitag (both Biotechnology course of studies) at the University of Mannheim each received one of the German scholarships sponsored by gempex.

“We primarily support biotechnology since numerous interesting graduates in this specialist field have already found their way to gempex and therefore the GMP world of the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industry,” says Elke Bonn, Manager Human Resources at gempex. “The specialised technical knowledge gained through the university education is used in the projects. Everything the young consultants need to know about good manufacturing practices is imparted in-house by the gempex Academy. In doing so, they choose a career with great potential and a future.”

gempex sincerely congratulates all scholarship recipients!

gempex also demonstrates its social responsibility outside of education. Every year the Mannheim-based company supports the “Ortsverband Mannheim e. V.” local association of the “Deutsche Leukämie-Forschungshilfe” (German Leukaemia Research Aid) and its “Campaign for children with cancer” with a Christmas donation. The association supports research in the field of paediatric cancer and advises parents of children with leukaemia and tumours. Financial assistance is also provided for families in need.

In addition to supporting the Mannheim University Hospital, special emphasis is placed on the affected children there. The association’s support keeps on making the eyes of children light up and their fondest wishes come true.
