gempex at the Technical University of Munich - Seminar for Water Technology

The 2-day Weihenstephaner Seminar for Water Technology is held every year at the School of Life Sciences Weihenstephan. It appeals equally to companies and students with its sophisticated programme. The event on 20 and 21 September 2018 is focusing on the possibilities for water preparation and treatment and the special topic “healing water”.

Rainer Krisam, graduate engineer in pharmaceuticals engineering and Senior Consultant at gempex, is speaking on the topic of qualification and validation in the context of healing water production, and will offer useful tips to avoid typical pitfalls.

The legal basis, particularities and requirements for the handling of healing water are illuminated under consideration of possible GMP aspects based on the EU GMP guideline and corresponding Annex 15, and the healing water production process is carefully examined.

But what are the typical stumbling blocks during qualification and validation, and how can they be avoided? The answers provide the outline for an idealised approach: from process development to concluding the design qualification, including subsequent detailed coordination with the supplier. Describing the benefits of a well-thought-out process completes the presentation.

The seminar is being organised by the Water Technology Working Group at the Chair of Food Chemistry and Molecular Sensory Science.
